August book recs

Heya, bookwyrms!

Admittedly, I haven’t read as much as I would’ve liked over the last few months. I’ve been busy these days translating manga and brainstorming new projects while I wait for my edit letter for FIRE TO THE STARS. That said, I’m getting better at embracing the art of the DNF (did not finish). As an author, it’s so easy to get sucked into reading for “market research,” but life is too short to push through books that aren’t for me. I have to remind myself that reading isn’t about finding and studying “perfect” craft. It’s about having fun!

Recent reads that showed me a great time:

A Door in the Dark by Scott Reintgen

Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

Yellowface by R.F. Kuang

Roar of the Tides by Veronica Rossi

Have you read any of these? If you have, drop me a line and tell me what you think! And if you’re so inclined, send me a recommendation…
