I held my book for the first time

After many days of stalking the UPS guy, ARCs (advance reader copies) have finally arrived!

The e-ARC of Fire to the Stars has been available for request on Netgalley and Edelweiss since December. Reviews have started coming in. But holding my book in my hands? THAT has been the highlight of my book deal so far.

Many authors cry when they receive their ARCs. I expected to cry too. Strangely, I didn’t. I think I felt more at peace than anything. People really do judge a book by its cover, and readers judge a book for its interior. I did my best with the story, and my publisher’s design team did an incredible job from the cover to the jacket copy to the interior page formatting. So, when I picked up my ARC, I suspect I felt assured that the visual elements did justice to the emotions I wanted it to convey.

Thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to give my book a chance. Every review, regardless of rating, helps more readers find it.
