Before you proceed:
Paid services are not necessary to pursue traditional publishing. I advise exhausting cheap and free resources before investing money into your author education. Critiques can be exchanged for free with critique partners, whom you can meet online in places such as Maggie Steifvater’s Critique Partner Matchup and #CPMatch on Twitter/X. Learning alongside critique partners can teach you just as much as paid services can.
Please note that paid services cannot (and will never) give you the "secret sauce" required to earn a book deal. Each author must invent their own recipe with the ingredients they bring to the table. My critiques are designed to help you identify the ingredients that make you unique. It is up to you to finalize your recipe.

My experience:
Aside from signing with my agent Josh Adams and selling my upcoming debut novel FIRE TO THE STARS to Knopf/Penguin Random House, I’ve attended numerous workshops and conferences with top agents, editors, and authors, including Donald Maass, Lorin Oberweger, Veronica Rossi, Henry Neff, and more.
Authors I’ve critiqued for:
Ananya Devarajan, author of KISMAT CONNECTION & SANSKARI SWEETHEART
Megan Davidhizar, author of SILENT SISTER
I specialize in the traditional publishing market, specifically the Young Adult category (any genre) and Adult category (sci-fi and fantasy).

What to expect:
My critiques dissect structure, characterization, world building, and prose as a means to maximize the story’s emotional impact. Therefore, my critiques are best suited for the developmental stage. Please seek other services for copyediting, proofreading, etc.
Your document must be delivered as a Microsoft Word file in standard manuscript format (double-spaced, 12-point font). I will provide a reader report of 2-5 pages that summarizes my thoughts and suggestions. I will also use in-line comments and Track Changes to highlight specific areas of opportunity. Please note that I require a query letter as part of my assessment to ensure your book delivers not only on craft, but on promise of premise, which is vital for sales.
Turnaround time varies from one week to two months depending on my schedule and the length of the document. One round of follow-up questions is welcome via email for no additional fee. One revised query letter is welcome for no additional fee.
-
Pricing:
Query letter: $35
Query + first chapter (up to 5,000 words): $99
Query + first 50 pages: $249
Query + full manuscript: $0.013 per word*
*Manuscripts over 100,000 words are subject to a rate of $0.014 for each additional word.
I accept payment via Venmo or Paypal only. A 50% deposit is due prior to service to reserve your slot. The remaining 50% is due upon completion to receive your deliverables. Your deposit can be refunded and your critique cancelled for any reason within 48 hours. After that, all payments become non-refundable.
Please note that I may refuse service for any reason, including but not limited to: offensive story content, excessive errors (typos, sloppy punctuation, missing text), if the manuscript isn’t ready for paid services, etc.
